What do I need to do after swapping my nozzle, hot end or toolhead?

After swapping the nozzle, hot end or toolhead the printer geometry and ofter factors will be different and require certain recalibrations:

Swapped Nozzle

This assumes swapping for identical nozzle, not nozzle materials or model/manufacturers, otherwise follow Nozzle + Hot End instructions.

  • PID
  • gcode z offset
  • flow ratio
  • if previously calibrated (Klipper: PROBE_CALIBRATE), recalibration of z probe

Swapped hot end

All the calibration as above for Nozzle plus

  • filament extrusion temperatures
  • max volumetric flow rate

Toolhead

All the above calibrations for hot end and nozzle but first

  • extruder rotational distance

And then after all other calibrations

  • input shaping
