after_nozzle_change

What do I need to do after I swap the nozzle or hotend?

If you changed the whole tool head or the extruder or extruder gears...

Be sure to tune extruder rotational distance before any other tuning or calibrations.

Tools

  • angled 6mm socket (or size of your nozzle
  • pair of large needle nose pliers

To swap the nozzle

Heat to 20C degrees hotter than your usual extrusion temperatures.

Things to do

An ordered list

  1. PID Tune
  2. calibrate probe z offset
  3. adjust slicer layer heights and line widths if you changed the nozzle size.
  4. set gcode z offset
  5. calibrate flow ratio
  6. calibrate pressure advance
  7. calibrate extrusion temperature
  8. calibrate max volumetric flow rate
