 +====== The Screen controller ======
 +{{tag>about}}
 +
 +The Neptune 4 has side mounted detachable handheld Screen. It’s an ancillary microcontroller, and not part of the printer itself, that can send and receive commands and information to and from the printer using a serial tty port and some proprietary Elegoo software. It features a touch sensitive display screen as its control interface.
 +
 +The Screen has its own processor and its own firmware which must be updated in tandem with Elegoo's printer 'firmware' updates.
 +
 +
 +It has several programmed workflows, including crude and rudimentary workflows based on the paper method for leveling the bed and setting the z offset. These workflows are distinct from the [[Fluidd]] GUI that [[Klipper]] supports for workflows and controls.
 +
 +
 +It can only partially display the probed bed mesh values on a six column maximum display table. This makes it ill suited, yet already superfluous, for evaluating or managing the mesh.
 +
 +No where using the Screen can you tell if the bed is level.
 +
 +It does not feature a workflow for calibrating the Z Probe.
